Welcome to the first, of hopefully many, Montana Weekend Adventure blogs! This series aims to provide a guide to exploring Montana’s lesser-known areas with the premise being to embrace your weekend warrior and see new places in Montana that you may have never known existed! Along with providing tips to my favorite trails and scenic views, I’ll also be showcasing my favorite shops, breweries, eateries, and more.
For the first in the MWA series I could think of no better place than the Badlands of Terry and Makoshika. Easily accessible right off of I-90, both of these could easily be their own weekend so don’t be shy about dedicating an entire weekend to Terry and another one to Glendive (home of Makoshika State Park).
While not a quick journey, getting to Terry and Glendive are some of the easiest cities to travel to as they’re both right off of I-94. Terry is two and a half hours east of Billings and Glendive is another half an hour after that!
